Asia (bbabo.net), - Rescuers found the bodies of all those killed in a landslide in Almaty. This was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan.
According to the department, the bodies of the dead were found at the scene of the incident: a man born in 1984, a woman born in 1980 and two boys born in 2007.
“Work to clear the rubble continues. They are complicated by a large volume of clayey mud with the presence of sharp objects, glass, and fittings. It is impossible to fully use the equipment - the entrances to the house are too narrow, rescuers work manually.” - said the city emergency department.
As previously reported, on the night of February 8, a landslide occurred on residential buildings in the Medeu district of Almaty. Possible causes were identified as an underground water pipe laid in a makeshift manner and an improperly installed storm drain.
The akim (head of administration) of the Yerkebulan Orazalin district announced an inspection of the legality of the construction of houses in the area, which, according to him, may have created a load on the mountain.
“Currently in the Tau-Samal microdistrict, the connection of the private sector to communications is chaotic and, as a result, unsafe. Many distribution networks in the private sector do not meet standards. In order to resolve this issue in the near future, last year we began developing a project for the construction of distribution networks. We showed the Balkhash water source; new wells are the first stage. The second stage is the process of constructing distribution networks and, in parallel with the water supply, the construction of sewerage networks, because in mountainous areas on such soils, private houses that use septic tanks are unsafe,” Orazalin said.
