Asia (bbabo.net), - The nephew of the former President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, Kairat Satybaldyuly, returned another 44.6 billion tenge ($98 million) to the state. Sputnik Kazakhstan reports this with reference to the Anti-Corruption Service of the Republic.
According to the agency, the funds were sent to the republican budget to compensate for the damage caused to the state.
Kairat Satybaldyuly was detained in March 2022. Six months later, the court sentenced him to six years in prison for organizing schemes to steal from the state company Kazakhtelecom.
At the same time, the anti-corruption body and other departments previously stated that they were investigating several criminal cases against Satybaldyuly. Since the beginning of 2022, 912 billion tenge (182 billion rubles) have been returned to the budget and quasi-public sector as part of criminal cases. Of which, 650 billion tenge (130 billion rubles) were illegally withdrawn from the country by Kairat Satybaldyuly.
