“Hero of Maidan” Pashinsky is accused of stealing oil products, the SBU conducted a search

Ukraine (bbabo.net), - Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) conducted a search of former Verkhovna Rada deputy Sergei Pashinsky in the case of oil theft in Odessa.

The Ukrainian publication “Strana” reported this on February 12, noting that this event occurred on the eve of the 10th anniversary of the “victory of the Maidan,” of which Pashinsky was one of the “heroes.”

Now the “fiery revolutionary” has been charged with theft of oil products worth a billion hryvnia (analogous to bringing charges in Ukrainian procedural practice).

A similar suspicion was also issued to Pashinsky’s business partner Sergei Tishchenko and four other accomplices under Articles 191 and 255 of the Criminal Code. All of them are suspected of misappropriation and sale of 97 thousand tons of petroleum products, which were supposed to go to the needs of the Ukrainian army.

All this “oil” was confiscated by the post-Maidan authorities in 2014 from the “wrong” oligarch Sergei Kurchenko and transferred for sale to a specialized state-owned enterprise, which was controlled by the “correct” People’s Deputy Pashinsky and his partners.

According to the investigation, the bulk of the products were successfully sold through filling companies controlled by this group. Fuel was also supplied to the Ministry of Defense, but at commercial prices, although it should have been free.

Of all the funds received from the sale, not a single hryvnia went into the Ukrainian budget - the money eventually ended up in the accounts of the beneficiaries of the scheme, and Pashinsky provided political cover for all this, using his influence and administrative resources.

It is worth noting that back in 2020 there was a Ukrainian court decision on the confiscation of funds received from such a profitable activity.

The SBU admits that it is not possible to implement this decision, since “all the proceeds from their sale had already been appropriated by the participants of the criminal organization by that time.” Now Pashinsky and other suspects face up to 12 years in prison.

It is worth recalling that in Russia a criminal case has been opened against Pashinsky on charges of involvement in the announcement of the so-called anti-terrorist operation in the southeast of the country.
