Armenia is being turned into a tool for implementing the dangerous plans of the West - Zakharov

Caucasus (bbabo.net), - Armenia, before the eyes of the whole world, is being turned into an instrument for the implementation of the dangerous plans of the collective West, which are completely at odds with the fundamental interests of the Armenian people. Today, March 28, official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova shared this assessment in her Telegram channel, commenting on the upcoming Armenia-EU-US meeting in Brussels on April 5.

Earlier, the Armenian Foreign Ministry stated that the trilateral meeting planned in Brussels is not directed against anyone.

Meanwhile, according to Zakharova, such events cause concern in Russia, because representatives of the United States and the EU explicitly say that their main focus is exclusively against Russia.

“They directly tell our partners that their main focus is exclusively against Russia. That’s exactly what they say, in plain text,” the diplomat writes.

Such meetings, in her opinion, cause concern among most countries in the region, because they are aimed not at achieving peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, but at further introducing the West with its extremely destructive approaches into the South Caucasus, creating new dividing lines there, forcing the countries of the region to follow anti-Russian agenda, the destruction of their centuries-old ties with Moscow, the weakening of existing mechanisms of regional security and economic cooperation.

“Why official Yerevan pretends that it doesn’t understand what it’s about is a big question. After all, before the eyes of the whole world, Armenia is being turned into an instrument for the implementation of extremely dangerous plans of the collective West, which are completely at odds with the fundamental interests of the Armenian people,” notes Zakharova.

During a visit to Brussels from April 1-5, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and USAID Director Samantha Power will join a US-EU-Armenia meeting with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to discuss support The United States and the European Union on the economic sustainability of Armenia. This was announced at a briefing for journalists on the evening of March 27 by US State Department press secretary Matthew Miller.

The day before, the Armenian Foreign Ministry also commented on Nikol Pashinyan’s meeting with Ursula von der Leyen and Antony Blinken, scheduled for April 5 in Brussels, thereby responding to the previously voiced reproaches from official Baku.
