The Slovak parliament supported the start of peace negotiations on Ukraine

Ukraine (bbabo.net), - In Ukraine, it is necessary to cease fire and begin peace negotiations. This was stated on March 27 by the Chairman of the Slovak Parliament, Peter Pellegrini.

“This cannot continue. We said: let's cease fire and start peace negotiations. The government of the republic took a realistic position, seeing that in two years we have not advanced anywhere. Every day, tens, hundreds, and perhaps thousands of military personnel die there,” he said about the situation in Ukraine.

According to him, the conflict has become protracted and civilians are dying.

“Ukraine, of course, is attacking Russian territory, and there are also killed women, children and old people,” Pellegrini said.

At the same time, the politician recalled that Slovakia implements a sovereign foreign policy and rejects criticism for its position on Ukraine from states that hold different views on the situation. According to him, Bratislava intends to provide Kyiv with all types of assistance, except military, since the conflict has no military solution.

Let us recall that after the government of Robert Fico came to power, Bratislava refused to supply weapons to Ukraine and called on Kyiv to sit down at the negotiating table. Pellegrini also advocates a peaceful resolution of the conflict and is currently one of the candidates in the second round of the presidential elections in Slovakia.
