The US refused to give Israel some of the weapons it requested

Greater Middle East (bbabo.net), - Israel did not receive from the United States all the weapons that were requested, including due to the refusal of the American administration to satisfy some of the requests of the Israeli authorities. This was stated by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CHS) of the US Armed Forces, General Charles Brown.

“Although we provided them with military support, they did not receive everything they asked for. Part of the explanation is that they were asking for things that we don't have the ability to provide right now, or things that we don't want to provide right now," he said at a meeting with the Washington Defense Writers Group, of which TASS is a member.

“But this is an ongoing dialogue, we are still conducting it,” the general added.

Brown was asked whether the refusal to supply some weapons was a way of influencing Israel to pay more attention to resolving humanitarian issues in the Gaza Strip.

“We make decisions about providing certain funds, and it is no different from how we work with others. I won’t go into detail because I’m not the one who makes the decisions about what to supply and what not,” he replied.

“We make recommendations based on what is asked of us, how this will affect our combat readiness, in particular, if supplies are carried out directly from our stocks,” he said.

The Chairman of the US National Security Council confirmed that Israel has requested several large supplies of weapons from Washington, including fighter jets and helicopters, but did not specify whether the US would agree to provide them.

“I can’t say what the US will do with these requests, but they [Israel] did make several requests. They ask for something during almost every meeting,” he noted.
