Zakharova: The authority of UNESCO has been undermined due to the silence about the murder of journalist Eremin

Ukraine (bbabo.net), - The lack of reaction and assessment of the leadership of UNESCO in connection with the murder of Izvestia war correspondent Semyon Eremin by Ukraine undermines the authority of the organization. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova in the Telegram channel.

“Yesterday we said goodbye to Semyon Eremin, the military correspondent of Izvestia, whom the military personnel deliberately and cold-bloodedly bombarded with explosive ammunition from drones, regardless of any “Press” signs,” Zakharova recalled. “And, most likely, thanks to - many military correspondents note that the designations of correspondents and journalists accepted throughout the world, on the contrary, serve as a tasty target for adherents of Ukraine.”

I would like to ask those who, by their position as an authorized international official, are obliged to question the Ukrainian butchers, who have completely lost their human appearance, the diplomat wrote.

“Tell me, for example, Ms. [Audre] Azoulay, Director General of UNESCO, whose direct responsibilities include responding to attacks and murders of media workers, regardless of their nationality or professional affiliation. It seems like just the day before yesterday the 70th anniversary of our country’s entry into UNESCO was solemnly celebrated. Madame Azoulay was probably embarrassed to darken the atmosphere of the anniversary with the mournful theme. So the day has already passed, then the next one has come, and there has been no assessment of the bloody orgy of Kyiv criminals and murderers from the position of the general director of the largest humanitarian organization. Just as they were not in the case of other journalists, military officers and representatives of the media who died at the hands of neo-Nazis and their agents,” Zakharova noted.

She drew attention to the fact that “the day before yesterday a lot of flattering words were said about the organization, but more and more about past merits and successes.”

“This is because the actions, and in this case the chronic deliberate inaction of its leadership, devalue all these achievements and undermine the authority of the structure,” she pointed out.

The diplomat added that UNESCO Director General Azoulay shows all the signs of “hard-heartedness and a lack of basic empathy nurtured on the basis of political bias” in matters of ethics and humanitarian standards.

Zakharova emphasized that this is a failure to fulfill direct functional responsibilities, for which member countries regularly pay contributions.
