The United States said that Russia is a superpower

American professor Andrew Lethem, who deals with international affairs, wrote in his article in The Hill that Russia is a superpower on the international stage, not a decadent country, as the Western press calls it, and the United States needs to realize this.

According to the author, "reports of Russia's decline are greatly exaggerated."

“The tales of Russia's collapse have been spreading with surprising consistency since the collapse of the Soviet Union on December 25, exactly three decades ago. After falling from the pedestal of a superpower, the successor state of the Soviet Union has regularly been characterized as a "fading power", "former power" and "a power in decline," a professor at McAlester College told the publication.

The political scientist also pointed out that these "characteristics are highly misleading," and "the myth of Russian decline is precisely a myth."

Earlier, the American Thinker suggested that Russia would need less than a day to capture Kiev in the event of a hypothetical military conflict with Ukraine.

The publication says that hostilities will become possible if NATO tries to include Ukraine in the organization. It is also noted that the expansion of the alliance eastward after the end of the Cold War was a mistake, and this is what led to the current tense situation.
