Saakashvili fainted after learning about his return to prison

Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili fainted when he learned that he was planned to be taken from a military hospital in the city of Gori back to prison. This is reported by TASS with reference to the representative of the Ombudsman Anna Dzhaniashvili.

Georgian Ombudsman Nino Lomjaria sent her representative to a military hospital after reports that Saakashvili's mother was not allowed to visit her son.

“Today I visited Mikhail Saakashvili. He told me that in the evening people came to him and said that they planned to take him out of the hospital, because of which he resisted, after which he does not remember anything. After he regained consciousness, he was told that they were no longer going to transport him anywhere, ”Janiashvili said.

Earlier, a neurologist Tengiz Tsuladze, a representative of the medical council under the Ombudsman of Georgia, said that the ex-President of the country Mikhail Saakashvili was diagnosed with deep depression and PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder).

Saakashvili was detained in Georgia on October 1. At home, he was convicted in absentia of the murder of banker Sandro Girgvliani and the beating of deputy Valery Gelashvili. Saakashvili calls himself a "political prisoner", he went on a hunger strike almost immediately from the moment of his arrest. The politician's doctors and lawyers consistently reported his deteriorating health. A week later, the ex-president was hospitalized in a prison hospital. On November 20, Saakashvili ended his hunger strike.
