President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko at the meeting with the commander in Chief of the NATO Allied Forces in Europe, General Philippe Breedlove, expressed interest in developing further cooperation in the field of defense, including the expansion of the program of joint drills. In addition, the President mentioned the effectiveness of joint military exercises, particularly on the Yavoriv training ground.

In turn, Breedlove appreciated the current level of cooperation between the Ukrainian and the US military.

The President thanked for the ongoing support and assistance provided by the United States and NATO to strengthen the defense capability of Ukraine. "This is a very important issue for us in the period of the annexation of the Crimea and aggression in Donbas," he said.

For his part, Philip Breedlove emphasized the necessity to continue reforming the Ministry of Defence. "It is difficult to carry out reforms, as the war's going. We are giving you our support you and you will be having it in the future," he said.
