Supermarket manager stripping off hijabs unable to return to work

In the United States, a supermarket chain manager who was dismissed in disgrace for Islamophobic workplace behavior has lost her appeal and will be unemployed.

Morrisons store manager Natalie McGonigle has repeatedly tore off a Muslim employee S.'s headscarf at her workplace. The victim lodged a complaint with the relevant authorities and the Employment Tribunal ruled to dismiss her.

McGonigle believes that she tore the headscarf off a Muslim woman "as a joke" and "just played about." As proof of the insignificance of her misconduct, the store manager showed the tribunal photographs of the employee without a hijab - taken before the girl began to wear a headscarf.

The British woman appealed in the hope of challenging her dismissal from the position in which she worked for several years, but the tribunal upheld the dismissal order and rejected McGonigle's appeal, reports bbbabo.net with reference to The Mirror.
