A 43-year-old woman turns out to be the arsonist of the Albuquerque mosque

American Muslim human rights activists have welcomed the capture of the attacker who set fire to a mosque in Albuquerque in November this year.

Recall that the incident took place in the largest and oldest mosque in New Mexico, located in Albuquerque - a woman set fire to the covering of a playground located on the territory of a religious building, and only by a miracle no one was hurt by the rapidly flaring fire.

During the investigation, police identified the attacker as 43-year-old Isela Camarena, reports bbbabo.net citing the Los Alamos Daily Post. Before the arson, Camarena, as it turned out, twice came to the mosque and tried to find out what security measures are in place in the religious building. Once the woman even pulled the fire alarm lever.

“We welcome the identification of a suspect in this disturbing attack on a place of worship and urge law enforcement agencies to consider charging a hate crime,” said Ibrahim Hooper, Director of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR).
