Chairman of the EEC Board Mikhail Myasnikovich focused on the positive dynamics of the outgoing year for the Eurasian Economic Union. In the New Year's greetings issued by the Eurasian Economic Commission, he acknowledged that "the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Union's economies is gradually weakening. Industrial production is growing, unemployment has more than halved, and mutual and foreign trade in goods has increased by almost a third."
The head of the collegium recalled that decisions that were important for Eurasian integration were made in 2021. An agreement was signed on the use of navigation seals in the union for tracking shipments. Equal access of economic entities of the EAEU countries to public procurement is ensured. The project "Work without Borders" was launched, the implementation of which expands the opportunities for employment and hiring of citizens in the union labor market.
In addition, added Myasnikovich, an agreement on the provision of pensions to workers of the EAEU states came into force. Work continued on the formation of a unified system of technical regulation of the Union, which has no analogues in international practice. The start and implementation of the project "Digital technical regulation within the Eurasian Economic Union" has been given.
Analyzing the achieved results, the head of the board stressed that they "were the result of concerted efforts of the national governments and the governing bodies of the union, including the Eurasian Economic Commission."
Having noted the ongoing development of the EAEU, he drew attention to the convergence of the economic and legislative positions of the member states. The international organization, he said, is becoming a regional center for attracting investments and intellectual resources, high technologies, a strong, competitive and prosperous association.
“It is comfortable to work and develop in the union. This is perhaps the main achievement of Eurasian integration. We have achieved a lot. Council of the EEC "for a great personal contribution to the development of Eurasian integration."
