Putin extended the term for the refusal of officials and military from foreign citizenship

President Vladimir Putin signed a law postponing the deadline for civil servants to renounce foreign citizenship or residence permits. The document is posted on the official Internet portal of legal information.

Changes are made to Art. 27 of the law No. 116-FZ proposed by President Vladimir Putin, which entered into force on July 1. Previously, state and municipal employees, as well as the military, had to renounce the citizenship of another state or a residence permit before January 1, 2022, otherwise they are subject to dismissal.

Now this deadline has been postponed to January 1, 2023.

Earlier, Putin signed a law on the obligation of citizens to evacuate from the emergency zone. Also, this law provides for the vesting of the government commission for the prevention and elimination of emergencies and ensuring fire safety in the event of a threat of emergencies with the authority to make a decision on evacuation.
