Moldova - Gavrilica: We managed to restore the trust of external partners

Moldova (bbabo.net), - Raising pensions, partial reimbursement of natural gas bills and restoration of international confidence in Moldova are the most important achievements of the Cabinet of Ministers. Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilica summed up the results of the year. The prime minister said that the authorities managed to bring the Republic of Moldova out of international isolation and contribute to the state budget significant sums provided to citizens as gratuitous aid from external partners, ipn.md reports.

Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilica says that numerous visits of high-ranking officials from Chisinau abroad have been crowned with concrete financial support from Moldova's external partners. According to the head of the executive branch, such substantial assistance would not have been provided if the international financial institutions were not fully confident in the good intentions of the Chisinau authorities.

“We managed to restore the country's authority and ensure the trust of external partners in the government. Already this year, we received $ 100 million in gratuitous aid. When a citizen sees his invoice for gas, then part of the money that the government was able to pay is from the European Union in aid. The decision to provide the European Union with 60 million euros to overcome the energy crisis was made in October, and in November the money was already transferred to the budget. All European institutions were extremely responsive. Without contacts, without visits, such speed, such support would have been impossible, ”said Natalia Gavrilica on the air of the program“ Moldova Live ”on Public Television.

Prime Minister Natalya Gavrilitsa notes that the reform of justice, transparency of the decision-making process, improvement of the budgetary process, reforming state-owned enterprises by ensuring their effective management are the main conditions agreed with international organizations to unblock external financial assistance.

“From the very first months we managed to agree on a new program with the IMF, which was approved by the IMF Board of Directors right now, at the end of December. This program will bring us $ 590 million in funding over the next few years. This money comes in addition to the 600 million euros provided by the European Union for economic recovery. This money will be used to insulate hospitals, which will begin next year. If we look back and see what conditions were previously stipulated by the European Union, we will understand that they correspond to our management program. We are talking about the transparency of the procurement process, the reform of the judicial system; the assessment of the activities of judges, which we are planning, is also included in the program with the IMF. These conditions are evidence of common sense, ”says Natalya Gavrilitsa.

According to Prime Minister Natalya Gavrilitsa, 2022 will be the year of genuine reforms in the field of justice. The draft of the preliminary screening of potential members of the Superior Council of Prosecutors and the Superior Council of Magistrates is one of the priorities of the executive branch in the next year. Natalya Gavrilitsa said that the document, which is now being discussed with the public, will be approved in January. In addition, according to the head of government, the process of certification of judges and prosecutors will begin in the first quarter of 2022.
