Ukraine and the EU want to hold a gas meeting

On August 27-28 European Commission Vice President Marosh Shevchovich and Energy Minister Vladimir Demchishin plan to discuss gas problems on the eve of the trilateral talks with Russia.

"During the 10th anniversary of the Energy Community in Vienna celebration on August 27-28 the minister is likely to hold bilateral talks with Shevchovich on this issue so we can hold trilateral talks and to reach a compromise with Russia in the first half of September," – said Mykhailo Bno-Ayriian, the head of the eurointegration of energetic sector.

As reported, Ukraine counts on new trilateral talks on gas in August.

In turn, the Russian Energy Minister, Alexander Novak, said that the trilateral gas meeting may take place in September. However, according to him, its exact date will depend on the agreement of all participants.

On July 1, 2015 Ukraine stopped buying gas from Gazprom, as the parties failed to agree on an appropriate additional agreement on the contract for the third quarter. Kiev, in particular, did not like the price of 247.18 dollars (including $ 40 discount) proposed by the Russian side.

Now, Ukraine receives gas reversal only from Europe, particularly from Slovakia.
