Moldova - Gavrilitsa on relations with Russia: I would call this policy reasonable

Moldova (bbabo.net), - Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilitsa regrets the decision of Tiraspol to terminate the operation of registration points for vehicles with neutral numbers, which allows car owners from the region to travel, including across Ukraine. “This decision is unsuccessful, because it primarily concerns people who want to go abroad, for example, to Ukraine, to the mountains.

It is a pity that the Transnistrian region has stopped using the formats that we have for negotiations, and is coming up with these direct letters, trying to find new formats for discussion, ”said Natalia Gavrilitsa, quoted by unimedia.info

At the same time, the prime minister stressed that both on the Transnistrian issue and on other issues related to the Russian Federation, the Chisinau government is pursuing a “reasonable, not timid” policy, as some security experts describe it.

“I would not qualify this position as timid. Let's see what is happening in the world and what is happening in the region. We see that there is a very tense situation on the border between Ukraine and Russia, and we see what is happening on the international energy markets. We are a small country in a very difficult region, so I would call this policy not timid, but reasonable, because we must do everything possible to advance the interests of citizens, ”the prime minister also said.

It should be reminded that Tiraspol announced that from December 29 it will suspend the activities of registration points for vehicles on the left bank of the Dniester with neutral numbers. Chisinau stated that it is negotiating with the regional administration in order to clarify the situation.

At the same time, the leader of Tiraspol, Vadim Krasnoselsky, wrote a letter to President Maia Sand, in which he asked "for a personal meeting or in a format acceptable to both parties" to restore dialogue between the two banks of the Dniester. The head of state said that she did not see the need for such a meeting and did not receive such a letter.
