Lukashenka sent a New Year message to the Belarusian people

“There is no future without respect for the past, without traditions, there is no state and no people,” stressed Alexander Lukashenko, addressing his compatriots on New Year's Eve. It was this vital postulate that the president of the ten-million-strong country was guided by, declaring 2022 the Year of Historical Memory, his press service reports.

Setting new goals for himself, the president said, "it is not in our power to predict everything, but it is in our power to determine the main thing for ourselves in the coming year." This is what, in his opinion, should be "in the memory of generations and in the heart of everyone."

He addressed words of gratitude to everyone who lived every day of the outgoing year with love for people and their native land, respect for the memory of their people and national traditions. That is how - painstakingly, day after day, for 30 years now a sovereign state has been built and flourished. “And despite the challenges of the time, he confidently sets new goals and moves forward,” the Belarusian leader stated.

Over the past year, he recalled, new residential neighborhoods have been built in Sineokoy, roads and bridges have been built, schools and kindergartens, hospitals and clinics have been opened. Citizens presented their country with bright creative projects and sports victories.

"All this is the result of your work, your dedication. And the answer to those who do not want to see our young independent state on the world map," he said, expressing his firm belief that "it will be." Because on the Belarusian soil, the president said, courageous people are born today who are ready to work, fight, and if necessary, give their lives for their country, for their people.

All of them, according to him, are strong, courageous, loving their Motherland, real heroes of modern Belarus. They have become on a par with the generation of the winners of the Great Patriotic War. They left in history their worthy example of true patriotism and greatness of the soul.

With special pride, the head of state also spoke about those who showed in the past year "so rare in our cruel age, humanity, mercy, true humanism towards people who have lost their homeland and are forced to look for a new abode."

Belarus, Lukashenko said, well remembers the lessons of the past. Therefore, the Day of National Unity has become a state holiday in the republic - one of the symbols of the formation of the Belarusian national state.

“This is our land, this is our destiny, this is our history. And only we will manage it. This cannot be changed as long as the inextinguishable flame of love for the Motherland burns in each of us,” the President of the Republic of Belarus summed up.
