Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Valeriy Chaly has presented credentials to U.S. President Barack Obama, the Ukrainian embassy to Washington reported on Tuesday.

During an official ceremony, Valeriy Chaly thanked Barack Obama for full-fledged support of Ukraine and wished the American people peace and prosperity. Ukraine's Ambassador confirmed invitation to the US President on behalf of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to visit Ukraine

Obama said the ties between the U.S. and Ukraine are strong now as they have never been before and assured the new ambassador that the U.S. remains committed to supporting the Ukrainian people.
