An Azerbaijani border guard who killed three colleagues on January 2 was detained in Nagorno-Karabakh. This was reported by the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan in the Telegram channel.

It is noted that after committing a crime, the cause of which has not yet been established, Sergeant Elkhan Evezli threw down his weapon and fled. Senior lieutenant Yusif Ismailov, junior warrant officer Amil Jalilzade and junior warrant officer Rafail Ibragimov were killed.

The suspect was found and detained at about 00.30 on January 3 in the territory of the Malkhelef village of the Lachin region in Karabakh.

"The leadership of the Prosecutor General's Office took the criminal case under special control and instructed the continuation of the investigation to the investigation department of the military prosecutor's office," the statement says.

All the circumstances of the incident are established.
