The Ukrainian army conducted exercises near the administrative border with Crimea. This was reported by the press service of the command of the joint forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, RIA Novosti reports.

It is noted that reconnaissance warriors are learning to repulse the enemy at close range.

According to the press service, after the opening of combat fire, the scouts moved on the battlefield in different ways, covering each other. According to Lieutenant Colonel Kirill Kholyavko, this method helps to conduct aimed fire from different positions and simultaneously conduct reconnaissance of the enemy and the terrain.

During the maneuvers, the military also worked out such an element of close combat - a method of conducting reconnaissance with the aim of a surprise attack on an object to seize documents and weapons.

"Every scout who is part of a combat group must be trained in such reconnaissance techniques," Kholyavko stressed.

In November last year, it was reported that the Ukrainian military conducted live-fire exercises at a training ground near the border with Crimea.

In March 2014, a referendum was held in Crimea, as a result of which the peninsula became a territorial part of Russia, and Sevastopol became a city of federal significance.
