As reported on December 28 in the press service of the parliament, a candidate for the post of ombudsman can become a citizen of Moldova with no criminal record, with a higher education, who has worked in the field of protecting and promoting human rights for at least 10 years. Also, the candidate must have an impeccable reputation and know the state language. After the selection round, two candidates should remain, who will be presented to parliament. The post of people's lawyer became vacant after the resignation of Natalya Moloshag, who was appointed to this post at the end of November.
