The Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the announcement of a Russian diplomat, an employee of the UN Mission for Interim Administration in Kosovo, persona non grata, the message was posted on the website of the Foreign Ministry.

“We consider the next trick of Pristina as a continuation of the provocative line on exacerbation of interethnic relations in the region, discrediting the World Organization and, not least of all, the constructive role of Russia in the Balkans. Obviously, the desire of the Kosovar authorities to get rid of those who can objectively record the destructive policy of Pristina, carried out in the Serbian-populated areas of the province, ”- stated in the message.

The Foreign Ministry also condemned attempts to restrict the activities of the UN mission from Kosovo.

Earlier, the UN reacted to the announcement of the Russian diplomat in Kosovo persona non grata.

The Russian Embassy also reacted to the expulsion of a Russian UN employee from Kosovo. The embassy expressed the hope that the "trick" of the Kosovo authorities will be given a "tough and unequivocal rebuff" within the framework of the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK). Russian diplomats called on the UN to ensure the safety of employees from the Russian Federation.
