Russia (bbabo.net), - Chairman of the State Duma Viacheslav Volodin commented on the murder of a five-year-old girl in Kostroma. He stressed that the law on life imprisonment for pedophiles should be passed in January.
According to the investigation, on January 4, 2022, the child was abducted while walking by two men and carried away in an unknown direction. Later, the girl's body was found in a room of one of the city dormitories. One of those arrested for the murder turned out to be a recidivist pedophile.
Volodin in his Telegram channel called the incident a terrible tragedy.
“We will do everything so that the law on life imprisonment for pedophiles was adopted in January,” he assured.
The speaker noted that the most stringent measures against those who were previously convicted of violence against children are supported by the society. At the same time, many are convinced that this is not enough.
"Criminals under such articles must serve life sentences in the harshest conditions - in the northern territories, mines," Volodin is sure.
The Chairman of the State Duma added that the issue should be worked out jointly with the Federal Penitentiary Service, promising to inform subscribers.
