Two Turkish women received posts in the coalition government of the Netherlands

Two women politicians of Turkish origin have entered the new coalition government of the Netherlands, according to news agency "Krasnaya Vesna" with reference to BBC Turkish. Representative of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy Dylan Yesilgez Zegerius took over as Minister of Security and Justice, and historian and freelance research fellow at the University of Amsterdam Gunay Uslu became Minister of Media and Culture.

General elections in the Netherlands were held on March 17, 2021, but supporters of various political forces could not come to an agreement on the composition of the government for a long time. After 271 days of negotiations, it was decided to form a coalition government of four parties and 28 ministers were appointed. The government will be headed by Mark Rutte.

Note that the role of ethnic Turks in the country's political life is also growing in neighboring Germany. After the parliamentary elections in September 2021, the number of members of Turkish origin in the Bundestag increased from 14 to 18.
