Putin discussed with Tokayev and Lukashenko the situation in Kazakhstan

Russian President Vladimir Putin held telephone conversations with Kazakh and Belarusian counterparts Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev and Alexander Lukashenko. BelTA informs about it with reference to the press service of the Belarusian president.

According to the press service, the leaders of the three countries discussed the situation in Kazakhstan, where for several days in a row the protests that began after the price increase for a liter of liquefied gas rose to 120 tenge (about 21 rubles). Before that, the price for a liter of gas was 60 tenge. Two days later, clashes between protesters and the police and the military began in Almaty and a number of other cities. Clashes also took place in Aktobe, Taraz, Aktau and other settlements.

In Almaty, protesters seized an airport. The airport staff left the building. Prior to that, the airport in the Kazakh city of Aktau suspended operations, and late flights were canceled at the Nur-Sultan airport due to the curfew.

Now in Alma-Ata the building of the branch of the national state TV channel "Kazakhstan" is on fire. According to media reports, the building of the branch in Almaty was destroyed by unknown persons. The employees of the TV channel were beaten, the safes were opened, the studio was burned and all the equipment was taken away. Then they set fire to the building.

It also became known that the protesters are trying to storm the building of the Auezov District Department of Internal Affairs in Alma-Ata.
