Russia - Pashinyan announced the decision of the CSTO to send peacekeeping forces to Kazakhstan

Russia (bbabo.net), - The Collective Security Treaty Organization has decided to send CSTO peacekeeping forces to Kazakhstan. TASS reports this with reference to the current chairman of the organization, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.

"In connection with the appeal of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev and in view of the threat to national security and the sovereignty of the Republic of Kazakhstan caused, among other things, by outside interference, the CSTO Collective Security Council decided to send the Collective Peacekeeping Forces of the CSTO to the Republic of Kazakhstan for a limited time period in order to stabilize and the normalization of the situation in this country, "Pashinyan wrote on his Facebook page.

Pashinyan referred to Article 4 of the Collective Security Treaty.

Earlier, the head of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, said at the meeting that he had turned to the CSTO partners with a request to help overcome the terrorist threat.

"In fact, this is no longer a threat, but an undermining of the integrity of the state and, most importantly, an attack on our citizens, who ask me, as the head of state, to urgently help them," the president stressed. And he added that in this regard, he considers his appeal to the CSTO members "absolutely appropriate and timely."

Note that in connection with the introduction of a curfew in Kazakhstan, the Russian Foreign Ministry recommends that Russians take refuge at home or in a hotel with food supplies. Moreover, they should not appear in places of mass gathering of citizens.
