Over the past day, the snow in this area has increased by 3 centimeters, since in the Leningrad region the air temperature remained below zero.

In St. Petersburg, where the thaw came, the height of the snow cover, on the contrary, decreased by a centimeter and amounted to 30 centimeters. This is less than the current winter record set in the northern capital on January 1, 2022 - 32 centimeters.

According to the North-West UGMS, on January 6 in the Leningrad region it is snowing, in places wet and heavy, the air temperature is minus 2-7 degrees. In St. Petersburg, precipitation also fell, the temperature is minus 2. On January 7, the city and the region are expected to cool down to minus 10 degrees and below.
