In the largest city of Kazakhstan, Alma-Ata, riots have not abated for several days. Here the most difficult situation developed, the rioters were able to seize several administrative buildings and the airport. The protesters are armed not only with improvised means, but also with firearms. Since yesterday, a counter-terrorist operation has been underway in Alma-Ata, the military has been brought into the city. Shooting on the streets of the city does not subside.

At about 22.00 Moscow time, a counter-terrorist operation began in Alma-Ata. The military entered the city and began to clear the areas from the rioters, civilians were asked not to go out into the streets.
