Russia - Kosachev: Riot in Kazakhstan aims at violent seizure of power

Russia (bbabo.net) - The development of events in Kazakhstan has shown that civil protests have developed into a riot, the purpose of which is a coup d'etat. This was stated by the vice-speaker of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev in an interview with Vedomosti.

He stressed that the instigators of the riots did not twice respond to the authorities' response to their demands. This suggests that these are no longer protests that are associated with socio-economic and political demands, but a riot, as a result of which the aggressors are trying to forcibly seize power.

Kosachev noted that the CSTO for the first time in its history received a request for such support. “And for the first time this request was based on the classification of events as external aggression, including a terrorist component,” Kosachev said.

Let us remind you that mass protests began in Kazakhstan in the first days of January. Civil rallies quickly escalated into riots, with instigators attacking police and civilians, setting fire to buildings, and looting. About a thousand people were injured.

The President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, said that at least six waves of terrorist attacks were carried out on Almaty, coordinated from abroad.
