The US told what is needed to progress in negotiations with Moscow

The US State Department said that a realistic position from Moscow is required for progress in Russian-American negotiations. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to a high-ranking representative of the State Department.

“We believe that there are areas in which progress can be made if Russia is realistic,” he said during a telephone briefing, which discussed the upcoming talks with Moscow on strategic stability in Europe and the meeting of the RF-NATO Council.

Earlier, the Foreign Ministry reported on the problems associated with Russia's call to remove nuclear weapons from NATO countries.

Prior to this, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that some of Moscow's demands on Washington on security issues are "absolutely impossible." He added that the Russian authorities are aware of which proposals cannot be implemented and which can become the subject of dialogue.
