The arrival of the peacekeepers allowed the transfer of Kazakh forces to fight the radicals

The arrival of the CSTO peacekeepers in Kazakhstan and the assumption of security functions by them freed up part of the forces of Kazakhstani law enforcement officers to solve counter-terrorism tasks. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan, Lieutenant General Sultan Gamaletdinov.

"The seizure of the most important facilities by the peacekeepers made it possible to free up a significant part of the forces and means of law enforcement agencies and the army that were deployed to fight terrorists," Gamaletdinov emphasized at a joint briefing with Colonel General Andrei Serdyukov, commander of the CSTO collective peacekeeping forces in Kazakhstan.

"At present, the counter-terrorist operation continues on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It will continue until the complete destruction of terrorists and the restoration of constitutional order in the Republic of Kazakhstan," said a representative of the Kazakh Ministry of Defense.
