The Czech Foreign Ministry assessed the efficiency of the Russian peacekeepers

Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky said that the Russian Airborne Forces are ready to respond to the aggravation of the situation, which is called "at the first wave of the hand." TASS reports.

“It would be good to remember how quickly these Russian planes with paratroopers began to arrive in Alma-Ata. It was clear that Russia, indeed, has units ready (to act), I would say, at the first wave of the hand. These are (Russian planes, they can start landing in other parts (of the world) near Russia, ”Lipavsky said.

He stressed that the Russian peacekeepers are highly efficient, because they arrived in Kazakhstan in a matter of hours at the request of the republic's leadership.

Earlier, the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation said that the Russian contingent of the peacekeeping forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) that arrived in Kazakhstan took under protection vital facilities, airfields and key social infrastructure of the country.

On January 2, mass protests began in Kazakhstan. This happened after the government decided to raise gas prices from 60 to 120 tenge. The protests quickly escalated into riots and clashes with the police. On January 4, the government commission announced its decision to reduce the gas price to 50 tenge. On the night of January 5, the President of the country announced the introduction in the country of 180-day state regulation of prices for fuel and food.
