Kyrgyz authorities evacuate residents from border conflict zone

The authorities of Kyrgyzstan are evacuating residents from the zone of the Kyrgyz-Tajik border conflict. This was reported in the administration of the Batken region of the Kyrgyz Republic.

According to the Ministry of Health of the Republic, medical institutions in Batken region have been transferred to high alert mode.

The Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Bishkek does not give any statements about the situation at the border. There is no information on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Meanwhile, the Kyrgyz side claims that the demands of the border guards of the Kyrgyz Republic for a ceasefire are ignored by the Tajik military. The Tajik side uses mortars and grenade launchers to shell the adjacent territory.

Recall that today at 18:15 the border guards of Tajikistan unilaterally blocked a section of the Batken-Isfana road near the settlement of Tort-Kocho, Batken district. The border units deployed on this section of the border have been transferred to an enhanced duty regime.
