The first sample of the Orion drone with satellite communications was presented by Shoigu

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu visited a plant for the production of large unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in Dubna near Moscow, the military department said.

“In the UAV final assembly shop, the head of the department was presented with Orion reconnaissance and strike drones supplied to the troops in varying degrees of readiness. Shoigu was informed about the new Sirius unmanned complex contracted by the ministry, the Helios-RLD radar patrol UAV, and the Grom high-speed strike drone, the Ministry of Defense said.

It is noted that when creating drones, up to 90% are used components made of polymer-composite materials.

Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation published a video of testing the newest Russian strike drone "Orion" in the Crimea.

The Orion unmanned aerial vehicle was developed by the Kronstadt company as part of the Pacer program. This is the first medium-altitude UAV with a long flight duration (Medium Altitude Long Endurance). "Orion" is capable of reconnaissance at an altitude of up to 7,500 m, as well as perform strike missions.
