Finnish inventor modifies DualSense controller for one-handed play

A Finnish enthusiast has unveiled a homemade DualSense controller pad that allows full one-handed play. The author's model is published in the public domain and is available for printing on a 3D printer.

Finnish YouTube blogger Akaki Kuumeri has posted a video demonstrating his PlayStation 5 DualSense controller overlay. The accessory is 3D printed and allows one-handed use of the controller.

DualSense is taken by hand and control of one part of it is carried out with your fingers. An overlay is used to manipulate the second part of the gamepad. The stick can be manipulated using the bracket, resting the structure on the table or thigh, and you can press the triggers and buttons of the cross using the duplicate levers. The structure can be assembled for both left-handers and right-handers.

In the video, the author has demonstrated the operation of the modified controller in several games, including Rocket League, Grand Theft Auto V, and even tried it alone in the co-op adventure game It Takes Two.

Akaki Kuumeri designed the product for the Controller Project competition with support from PrusaPrinters. Engineers and enthusiasts were asked to develop modules for controllers that allow people with disabilities to play games. The Kuumeri model and 122 other developments have been collected into a single library, which everyone can use.
