Facebook moderators were not paid their salaries after the New Year holidays, they threaten to stop working

According to Verge, Facebook contractor Accenture still hasn't paid salaries to moderators of the social network after the New Year holidays. The hired employees turned to the management of Meta (Facebook) in this regard with the requirement to fulfill all the conditions for their remuneration, otherwise they threaten to stop working.

An Accenture spokesman explained that the company is aware of the problem and will pay all money and penalties for late payments, but did not give a date when this will be done. He clarified that the incident occurred due to the change of the accounting company Accenture.

It turned out that in the course of this IT accounting incident, data on moderator overtime and reports on their changes during the New Year holidays disappeared from Accenture's salary databases. This significantly complicated the situation with attempts to recalculate premiums and payments. Facebook has also confirmed a failure in the payment system for moderators and is trying on its part to resolve this situation.

Accenture, after contacting the moderators directly on Facebook, began to make lump sum payments to employees, but only a part of the staff received them, and the rest are still without a salary. The company explained that the moderators continue to work and are not going to stop their activities.

The moderators, for their part, told Verge that all their teams have been without the promised money since the beginning of January. Accenture employees, including those who received lump sum payments from the company, are still in dire financial straits with loans and unpaid bills.

In mid-December, Facebook moderators bought out a mobile billboard to complain about Accenture's low pay. Hourly pay at Accenture ranges from $ 16.50 to $ 18.50, plus a $ 2 bonus for bilingual moderators not given to Ukrainian and Spanish speakers. The workers then explained that Accenture was ignoring their requests for higher wages.
