Apple bans iPhone users from staying on iOS 14

The American company Apple has banned iPhone owners from staying on iOS 14 and continuing to receive security updates without upgrading to the next version of the mobile operating system. This is reported by 9to5Mac.

It is noted that the company decided after the release of iOS 15 to continue to release improvements for iOS 14 for users who were not ready to upgrade to the new version. However, the publication found that the developers from Cupertino refused such a step.

Now users are forced to install the latest version of the operating system - iOS 15, in order to get security improvements. For example, update 14.8.1, released at the end of October 2021, is no longer available for download and installation.

Devices running iOS 14.8 or earlier versions of the operating system can now only be updated to iOS 15. Journalists believe that in this way Apple reacted to the less interest of smartphone owners in the new mobile OS.

Earlier in a report by analytics firm Mixpanel, it was reported that iPhone owners have begun to be apprehensive about installing iOS updates.
