Intel plans to build a huge US semiconductor plant in Ohio

Intal is about to start building a new semiconductor plant in New Albany, Ohio. According to experts, the plant in Ohio will be the largest economic project in the history of the state. Authorities and Intel itself have not yet commented on the information.

The Cleveland edition reported that Intel is working with local and federal authorities to regulate legal issues and will soon officially announce the start of construction of a new plant.

Details of the project are being carefully guarded against leaks, but some sources say the plant will be built in the New Albany area. It was there that this week the local government approved a deal to acquire a large piece of land. According to experts, several tens of billions of dollars will be spent on construction, including under the state support program for the semiconductor industry. The plant is planned to be built within 10 years.

Specialists also noted that upon completion of construction, the cost of the factory can be estimated at $100 billion, and more than 10,000 employees will be required for operation. The place of construction was also not chosen by chance. The Ohio State University is located nearby and its educational program in computer science and electrical engineering was included in the top 25 best educational programs in the United States. Experts believe that Intel intends to provide additional education to students with the possibility of employment in the staff.
