“You asked (a lot), we did it. Profile photo in the form of NFT is now available for iOS,” the developers said.
The feature is only available to users with a paid Twitter Blue subscription, which costs $2.99.
A non-fungible token (NFT) is a digital certificate based on blockchain technology that confirms the right to own a virtual asset. NFT is unique and cannot be counterfeited or replaced with another one. NFT technology was created in 2017.
Previously, the “first entry” on Wikipedia was sold for $750,000.
The auction took place on December 15 in New York. The founder of the online encyclopedia, Jimmy Wales, chose the phrase as the first article: Hello, World! (from English "Hello world!").
