Google CEO sued for posting movie on YouTube

The Mumbai police received a complaint against the head of Google Sundar Pichai, which served as the basis for a criminal case, according to the IndianExpress portal.

Pichai and four other employees of the company are accused of copyright infringement. Film director Sunil Darshan accused them of unauthorized uploading of his film Ek Haseena Thi Ek Deewana Tha to YouTube.

According to him, he did not sell the rights to the film to the company and did not allow its publication. Now the film has collected more than 1 billion views.

According to the portal, the platform has three days to remove the film. Also, Darshan can prove the loss of funds due to the actions of YouTube - then he can count on monetary compensation.
