CD Projekt Red will release a single-player version of the card game Gwent

CD Projekt Red has announced that it is developing a single-player version of the Gwent card game, codenamed Project Golden Nekker. The release of the project is scheduled for 2022.

Pavel Burza, head of the Gvint communications department, shared the corresponding statement with IGN. He said that the game will not be like The Witcher Tales: Thronebreaker and will give gamers a completely new experience. Project Golden Nekker will be a completely standalone project and will not necessarily play past games in the series to get the full experience.

For the first time, Project Golden Nekker became known at the December presentation for developers. Then the game director Vladimir Tortsov presented the code name of the project and said that the studio would soon tell the details, but did not give exact dates.

Analysts at IGN have speculated that single-player Gwent could release in the fall of 2022. In addition to the new project, CD Projekt Red continues to develop existing versions of the card game. For The Witcher Tales: Thronebreaker, release dates for new cards have been set, which will then migrate to the multiplayer version.
