In five years, Tesla's revenue will exceed that of Ford and General Motors combined.

According to Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas, Tesla's revenue will grow very impressively in the coming years.

Tesla is the largest automotive company by market capitalization, but it sells far from a record number of cars and, accordingly, has far from the largest revenue. However, within five years, Tesla's revenue may exceed the combined figure of such giants as GM and Ford.

Most automotive investors we talk to still resist the idea that Tesla could ever be bigger than GM or Ford. We expect Tesla to have more revenue than GM + Ford (by 2027). It's hard to see a zero-sum game today... it should become apparent within the next 24 months.

We estimate that the average selling price of a Tesla car is now approximately $60,000, which is approximately 20% higher than the US average.
