Job search and recruitment service Superjob conducted a survey among 1,000 parents of boys in 256 locations across the country. The study revealed that most parents want their sons (at least the eldest of them) to choose a profession in the field of information technology.
26% of respondents see their underage sons as programmers, engineers or IT specialists.
The second place is taken by military service, service in the police or the Ministry of Emergency Situations (10%). In third place (9%) is the direction related to medicine and pharmaceuticals. The fourth place (7%) is construction, and the fifth (4%) is economics and finance.
A Superjob survey of a pool of 1,000 parents of girls showed slightly different results. Most parents of underage girls want their daughters to choose a profession in the medical field. Only in second place (11% answered so) they have IT and everything related to this area.
In third place (6%), the parents of girls in preference are economics and finance. Fourth and fifth place (5%) are professions related to the fitness industry and jurisprudence.
The sixth and seventh places (4% each) of the survey were occupied by parents who want to see their daughters in the military or related to work with construction or architecture.
