Samsung is promising four years of security updates and three major Android updates for most of its devices, including the Galaxy A series. However, that doesn't mean the company is planning monthly security updates.
Samsung released the mid-range smartphone Galaxy A51 in December 2019, it became a real bestseller (one of the company's best-selling smartphones). Now the Galaxy A51, according to Samsung's own update website, will only receive two updates per year. This is despite the fact that the phone is just over two years old and has only received one of the three promised Android updates so far.
The Galaxy A51 features a 6.5-inch S-AMOLED display with Infinity-O design in Full HD+ resolution. The device received a 48-megapixel main quad camera, as well as a 32-megapixel selfie camera. The battery capacity is 4500 mAh, there is support for 15 W fast charging technology.
At the same time, the much less popular Galaxy A51 5G will receive security updates quarterly, that is, twice as often as the Galaxy A51.
The Galaxy A51 is still due to receive Android 12 and Android 13.
