In the first tests, the Ryzen 7 6800H loses to the Core i5-12500H, but is ahead of its predecessors

The first review of the new AMD Ryzen 7 6800H processor has appeared on the Web. The corresponding line was presented at the beginning of the month, and already this month laptops based on such APUs should appear on sale.

Unfortunately, the review was deleted, but its traces remain, so we can find out the most important thing. First, let's recall that the Ryzen 7 6800H contains eight processor cores with Zen 3+ architecture and a frequency of up to 4.7 GHz and an RDNA 2 architecture Radeon 680M GPU with 768 stream processors.

Since the original review has been deleted, we only have charts showing the names of the laptops, but not the processors that underlie them. All we know is that the Ryzen 7 6800H is about 9% faster than its direct predecessor and about 5% faster than the Ryzen 7 5900HX. But we can also compare the obtained results with the new Intel products.

For example, the Core i5-12500H in Cinebench R20 scores about 660 and 5640 points in single-threaded and multi-threaded modes, respectively, while in R23 its results are 1700 and 14,750 points. That is, in the first case, the Intel solution in the multi-threaded (it is more important) mode is faster than the AMD novelty by about 11%, and in the second, by about 12%. At the same time, in terms of positioning, these are not direct competitors, but for they may well be.
