All Sony A-mount lenses discontinued

Sony Japan has labeled all A-mount lenses as "discontinued" on its website. According to the source, this move can only be interpreted as a final blow to the mount introduced by Minolta in 1985.

The fact that Sony is going to end the legacy of Minolta, the purchase of which at one time allowed Sony to enter a new market, was indicated by the lack of announcements of new products over the years and the gradual disappearance of old models from the catalog.

Of course, stores and warehouses have a certain stock of lenses that can also be used with Sony E mount cameras, provided they are installed through an adapter.

It remains to make a reservation that Sony has not officially announced the cessation of the production of A-mount photographic equipment, but it seems that such an announcement would only formally reflect the actual state of affairs.
