Yandex.Delivery launches intercity transportation

The Yandex team announced that the Yandex.Delivery service has entered the long-distance logistics market.

The service previously specialized in fast delivery within one city. Now Yandex.Delivery can organize logistics between cities. According to the developers, online stores can now deliver orders via Yandex.Delivery to more than 900 cities in 54 regions. Delivery between cities is already available for thousands of Yandex.Delivery corporate customers, including small companies.

Yandex.Delivery has optimized various stages of delivery so that parcels between different regions arrive quickly. Car couriers pick up goods daily from stores or sellers' warehouses, and then orders are consolidated at four distribution centers in the Moscow region. Further, from the sorting centers, the parcels are sent by trucks to the final cities of destination to warehouses, from where they are again picked up by city couriers and delivered directly to the buyer or to the nearest of 7,000 available pickup points.

Goods from Moscow warehouses can be received by buyers from the Moscow region within 24 hours, residents of St. Petersburg, Volgograd, Voronezh, Krasnodar, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, Yekaterinburg, Yaroslavl, Maikop will have to wait a little longer.

Both buyers and senders at all stages can see the status of the parcel in the Yandex Go application, as well as change the time, place and chat with the courier and support.
