Apple sued over iPad 'jelly effect'

US resident Christopher Bryan has filed a class-action lawsuit against Apple, in which he accused the company of releasing the iPad mini 6 despite its known “jelly effect” problem, according to MacRumors.

In September 2021, iFixit experts disassembled the iPad mini 6 and confirmed the complaints of the first buyers of the tablet about the “jelly effect”, in which the left side of the display noticeably lags behind the right side when scrolling in portrait orientation. At the same time, an Apple spokesman said that this is "normal behavior for LCD screens."

The complaint alleges that the company is aware of the defect, but Apple still continues to sell the device without attempting to correct the defect or amending its marketing materials to somehow reflect the presence of the defect.

The lawsuit seeks damages for any sixth-generation iPad mini owner who purchases it in the US.

Previously, she said that the iPad mini 6 took ninth place in the ranking of the most productive Apple gadgets.
