The Founder of the Coursicle App Suddenly Started Sending Users Strange Notifications and Asking for Nudes

According to Vice, Joe Puccio, founder of the Coursicle calendar app, has suddenly begun mass sending push notifications to users with strange content - “The time has come. Twitter is going to die today.” “Thanks for listening. I love you.", "This is the end. I'll shut up if you open the app, select nudes, and follow the instructions." and not only. Unusual messages, sometimes with very personal content, also appeared on the website, on Instagram and on the Coursicle Twitter account.

The mailing of notifications began on February 7th. From the same day, messages atypical for the service appeared in the Coursicle microblog. Joe, on behalf of Coursicle, swore on Twitter in obscene form for the fact that the service does not agree to display ads for the application. In addition, he tagged Apple and asked if the company was going to stop them from sending push notifications to users. In a conversation with one of the users, Joe asked if they wanted him to kill himself and the app closed.

On the same day, Twitter began sending notifications of impending doom. In response to a tweet from one user, the Coursicle founder responded that Twitter is just as abusive as his ex and it's time for everyone to stand up to those who have power over them. Joe began to swear at users in correspondence, stating that they can delete applications if they don't like something.

Soon the microblog was filled with links to songs and movies, messages like “Life is not measured by the number of Twitter followers”, insults to people with their profiles, endless swearing on Twitter, personal revelations and more. Users asked Joe to write such things in his personal account, but he did not listen. Then there were reports of class struggle, Joe started calling for a revolution in consciousness, claimed that Russia had unleashed a war in the minds of the people, and other such things. The publication of strange messages continues to this day.

Vice contacted Joe and asked about the reasons for this behavior. He indicated that he was trying to draw people's attention to the dangers of capitalism and was following the example of Edward Snowden and Aaron Schwartz. According to Joe, eventually everything will return to normal and the application will work as before. This may take a week or more.

Perhaps the real reason for the turmoil was Joe's split with Coursicle co-founder Tara Aida. Vice points out that in one of the tweets, he posted a document with the history of his relationship with Tara. However, this document could not be found. There are several deleted tweets on the profile. Perhaps he was in one of them. A link to Joe's diary with a description of the work on the application (until 2018) in which Tara is mentioned has remained on the Web.
